Best wishes, Nik.
Mine is the overused concept of authenticity because I only figured what it means in 2020.
Until last year, I did consulting projects I thought I would enjoy but lost interest in them quickly.
During the lockdown, I got enough time to reflect on my work since I lost most of it. And I realized most of my start-stop-restart-go-don't-go actions stemmed from my lack of interest in what I did, especially when I tried to keep up with the Joneses.
That's when I truly understood what Naval meant by, "Escape competition through authenticity. No one can compete with you on being you."
So while I maintain the one-word life theme of "Growth," my 2021 one-word theme will be "Authenticity” — less of exchanging time for money and more of doing what feels right to me over and over again.
